Tye Dye Pained Pot

How to make a vibrant tye dye painted pot, step by step.

I recommend using terra cotta pots for this craft. Start by painting a sealant on the pot, inside and out.

I like to paint my pots a base color, I usually go with white to ensure the colors are vibrant and true to the colors chosen.

Gather your colors, for my pot I chose a pastel rainbow palette. I will pour the paint so that they are touching each other, this will help with the blending.

For this project I've tried a couple of different brushes, so far I've preferred the foam brush, they hold pain well and easily blend. Dip the brush in 2'volors at once and dap the paint onto the pot. Have fun with it! Make circles. Diagonals, whatever feels right at the time and it will look amazing!

Overlap the colors a little bit to help with the blending. Continue like this until you've used all of your colors.

I like to add stencil designs to my pots as well. I used a sunflower stencil on this pot.

Peel of your stencil and wait for the paint to dry, your pot is all finished and ready for a plant!

Here are a list of products I used for this project. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Delta Ceramacoat All Purpose Sealer- I purchased this at Michaels a few years ago, I couldn't find any on Amazon.

Apple Barrel Paint, I got a set of 18 paints and the colors used were white, candy pink, harvest orange, yellow, parakeet, cobalt blue, grape jam and black for the flower. I prefer the matte finish.
